Beaver Creek, Colo. (Ski Press)-Hi, I’m Dan Egan for Ski Press Live presented by Sprint and here are the results for the super combined race for Friday December 4, 2009.
The Swiss dominated this day with Carlo Janka in First Place and Didier Defago in Second and in Third from Croatia it was Natko Zrncic, rounding out the top six was Jean Baptiste Grange from France and Aksel Lund Svindat were 4th and 5th and Beni Raich was 6th The top American and sole finisher was Andrew Weibrecht he had a great Downhill run finishing 6th but ended up 19th over all. Bode Miller was in 7th after the downhill but failed to finish the slalom run along with Ted Ligety who also fell in the slalom. The Super Combined is a great event for the spectators because it is an action packed day with one run on a shorten Downhill and one run of a Slalom. These are two tough events and really test the competitor’s skills and agility as well as stamina. The skiers who can shift gears and let it all hang out on the Downhill at speed over 80 mph then have to get technical for the slalom. Not an easy task even for the best in the world. Stay tuned right here at Ski Press Live for your behind the scenes video and daily updates.
