Dan Egan (Ski Press) Training at Beaver Creek was delay due to weather until 1:30 then the sun poked through and the racers took to the hill with the start lowered to the GS Starting location.

The track was fast and from the flurries from the last night the racers had great grip as they flew over the famed jumps on the lower section into the finish.

“It’s was a lot of fun today, the track ran smooth and with the new snow the landings from off the jumps perfect.” Stated Marco Sullivan who finished in the top 15 last weekend at Lake Louise.

There is much anticipation for Friday’s Super combined event in which skiers will be running a down hill race and a Slalom with many technical skiers training on the downhill today to prepare for Friday. Some of the best techincal skiers in the world are here training Downhill including Benjeamin Raich of Austria and Ivica Kostelic of Croatia, Ted Ligity is the favorite for the United States.

The “Bird’s of Prey” downhill at Beaver Creek is the only World Cup Downhill in the United States and is know for its difficulty do to the altitude of the Beaver Creek Resort and the steepness of the trail.  Historically the US Men’s Team has done very well here in Beaver Creek so stay tuned to www.Skipresslive.com for daily updates and videos from Colorado!
