Breckenridge, Colo. (Ski Press)-In what many Rocky Mountain residents were beginning to believe was a slam dunk, residents of Breckenridge, Colorado did indeed vote Tuesday to decriminalize possession of one ounce or less of marijuana.
According to the Summit Daily News, a first take on turnout showed that 71 percent of local voters were in favor of the initiative. “We're done with the days people could laugh off marijuana reform,” Sean McAllister told the Summit Daily News. The Breckenridge attorney and chair of reform group Sensible Breckenridge also told the paper, “I believe the implicit implications are that we should have a dialogue about taxing marijuana.” Check out the whole story here: http://www.summitdaily.com/article/20091103/NEWS/911039974/1078&ParentProfile=1055 |
