Copper Mountain, Colo. (Ski Press)-After spending several days of testing at PSIA-AASI Team Training at Copper Mountain Colorado, Rossignol and Alpine Team members, Dave Lyon and Nick Herrin, and the Rossignol product team concluded that the Avenger 82Ti is the perfect ski for most performance-oriented ski instructors across North America.

”Our goal,” said technical product manager Thor Verdonk, “was to work closely with our D-teamers (PSIA Demo Team members) to build the perfect ski for precise technical skiing as well as carving slower, round effortless arcs needed for certification and teaching. With the Avenger 82 Ti, we all think we’ve built the perfect ski for PSIA.”

“Here at PSIA Team Training,” added Dave Lyon,.., “we are expected to be on top of our game - to ski to the best of our abilities as well as to teach and to clinic at moderate speeds. We worked very closely with the Rossignol product guys to develop a ski that is a joy at all speeds and all conditions. There is no question that I ski better and have more fun on the 82 Ti than on any other ski we’ve been on, it’s truly an extension of my body. Teaching is going to be really really fun this year!”

“The 82 Ti represents our focus on the basics of ski design,” Verdonk explains. “We use the same laminate construction that has dominated World Cup racing in all of our other performance skis because such a simple, straightforward construction allows us to control all the variables while including the best materials. We can tailor torsion, longitudinal flex, balance and edge grip to every purpose and in every ski length. With the 82 Ti, we have a lively, stable ski at pace that also performs at teaching speeds. It?s precision at work, you can definitely feel it.”

Nick Herrin agrees. “This ski is perfect. I’ll ski on the 82 Ti in anything.”
