Snowbird, Utah (Mtn Press)-The Snowbird Renaissance Center (SRC) will unveil its inaugural Snowbird Mountain Music Festival, July 8-12, featuring national Americana artists, local favorites and a variety of musical events for the entire family.

“In the true festival spirit, we’ve paired premier artists with music camps, competitions, workshops and lots more,” said SRC General Manager Teri Mumm. “The Snowbird Mountain Music Festival is a unique five-day event that is sure to please music lovers of all ages in the beautiful backdrop of Little Cottonwood Canyon.”

Nationally acclaimed artists Cowboy Junkies, Son Volt and Justin Townes Earle kick off the weekend portion of the festival with Friday night performances at Snowbird’s new outdoor venue, the Peruvian Terrace. Saturday features the Old 97’s, Seldom Scene and others while Sunday concludes with headliners Darrell Scott and The SteelDrivers. The complete artist schedule and lineup, along with bios, music samples, ticket and festival information is available at www.snowbirdrc.org.

The Snowbird Bluegrass Camp for Kids takes place earlier in the week and offers musical instruction for children 5-17 of all musical abilities. The three-day camp, taking place July 8-10, includes coaching from members of Bearfoot, an accomplished bluegrass band from Alaska.
