Stratton Mountain, Vermont (Mtn Press)-Stratton Mountain Resort is celebrating hometown shredder Lindsey Jacobellis’ role in the upcoming Winter Olympic Games.
Jacobellis is a favorite to win gold in the women's snowboardcross event on February 16, and is one of four U.S. athletes with Stratton ties competing in Vancouver. Fellow U.S. teammates Louie Vito, Kris Freeman and Andy Newell all attended school at the prestigious Stratton Mountain School, each having carved their own legacies in this small mountain community. Stratton will honor these athletes and their accomplishments with several events both for the public and the media to enjoy. The Viewing Party - The hottest place on the mountain for après fun is your best bet to catch all of the competition, including a special Jacobellis viewing party starting at 8pm on Tuesday, February 16. This is the spot to revel in the event telecast with your fellow Stratton neighbors. Join the competition – Stratton’s “Fire and Ice” festival allows all guests to capture their competitive spirit and try a new winter sport, regardless of age or athletic ability. With a scheduled freestyle jump exhibition, ice skating party, tubing, cross country skiing and (paintball) biathlon, there’s something for everyone. Photo: Peter Foley/U.S. Snowboarding |
