Perlman Makes Move to Steamboat

Steamboat Springs, Colo. (Ski Press)-Rob Perlman, chief executive officer of Colorado’s ski trade association, Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA), has accepted the position of vice president of sales and marketing for Intrawest’s Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation.

“Having worked with Rob at Colorado Ski Country, we knew that only a veteran with a diversity of mountain resort experience could take us to the next level,” said Chris Diamond, president and chief operating officer of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “As Steamboat continues to see unbridled growth in real estate, lodging, skier days and air service, we are poised for continued success. Rob’s track record is one of achievement and we welcome him to Steamboat and back to Intrawest.”

In an e-mail sent Thursday, Perlman noted, "As Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) wraps up what could very well be its third consecutive record ski season, I wanted to personally thank each of you for helping make my six years as head of this tremendous organization an experience like none other.

After CSCUSA’s 45th Annual Meeting and Forum in Crested Butte (June 11-13), I will be joining the team at Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation as their Vice President of Sales and Marketing. I will be working directly with Chris Diamond, Steamboat’s President and Chief Operating Officer, and Andy Wirth, Intrawest’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, and look forward to helping build on the success of one of the nation’s top five resorts.

The good news is that I am remaining in the ski industry that I love immensely. In doing so, I am able to return to the mountains of Colorado with my family and work with the great staff at Steamboat as well as the leaders of the Intrawest organization whom I have had the pleasure of knowing through my role here as well as in my previous position at Mammoth Mountain.

The sad news is that I am leaving one of the best staffs in any business—people who are dedicated, results-oriented, motivated and passionately driven by our shared vision of making Colorado renowned as the greatest mountain resort destination in the world."
