Acts have been confirmed for the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival’s free Zune Concert Series, running April 17-26. The 2009 line-up includes Ozomatli, Ten Second Epic, Thornley, Lotus, The Arkells, The Stills, Metric, DJ Z Trip, and 54-40....
(For band bios and photos, go to www.wssf.com/ocs.) The headline acts play at the Zune Concert Series in the Skier’s Plaza, at the foot of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, free daily from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. The Zune Concert Series will also be the springboard for an emerging Canadian band or artist, as Zune Canada launches its search today for the hottest undiscovered talent in the nation with the Zune Concert Series Competition. Undiscovered bands and artists are invited to upload an original music track at http://www.zune.ca/ to enter. The winner will be selected by a panel of esteemed music business experts by April 11th and will play live at the Zune Concert Series. The winner will also be awarded the opportunity to connect with Canadian music industry agents, A&R reps, and managers, who will advise the band on what it takes to succeed in the highly competitive music industry. Music fans can also visit the Zune site to listen and rate tracks from competing bands, and enter to win a trip to the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival to see the band perform live.
