Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty won't be making helmets mandatory for Ontario kids any time soon...
While McGuinty, a longtime skier, agrees helmets are a good idea, not just for kids but for adults, too, the Premier has told the Toronto Star there has not been any "talk" in the Ontario legislature about making helmet mandatory on the province's ski slopes. The issue came to McGuinty following the tragedy last week at Ontario's Snow Valley in which a young boy died after losing control and hitting a tree. "This tragedy happened and this very Saturday I went to the ski shop and bought a helmet," McGuinty told the Toronto Star. He urged parents to voluntarily follow his lead.
