Alberta's Sunshine Village has purchased a chairlift from Whistler Blackcomb that will be used in the Olympics...

CBC News is reporting the lightly-used quad chair will be shipped to the Banff ski resort post-Olympics to replace Sunshine's aging Strawberry Chair.

"The Strawberry Chair is the oldest chair that we have at Sunshine," Sunshine spokesman Doug Firby has told CBC. "It was installed in the '70s and was made by a company that is no longer in business."

Currently the chairlift's main function at Whistler is to shuttle Olympic spectators for the 2010 Games, but the BC resort has no use for the chair post-Olympics, CBC says.

The lift should be running at Sunshine in time for ski season 2011.
