With the daunting headline FLIGHT INTO DANGER, today's Toronto Star has front-paged a story on the dangers of snowboarding's 'double cork' - a trick considered essential for an Olympic medal...

Star reporter Randy Starkman has put together a compelling story on the lengths snowboarders will go to win 2010 Gold. It is in the wake of a recent near-fatal crash of Kevin Pearce, a US snowboarder in a Utah hospital surffering from severe brain injury after attempting a 'cab double cork'.

US coaches are on record suggesting their athletes must pull off the extremely difficult trick in order to bag an Olympic medal.
