Orage announced French superpipe phenom, and Winter X Gold Medalist, Xavier Bertoni as the newest member of the Orage Pro Team.
Hailing from La Clusaz, France, Xavier joins fellow X Games 13 Slopestyle Gold Medalist and veteran Orage athlete TJ Schiller, along with Phil Casabon, JP Auclair and Michelle Parker to round out what is now one of skiing’s most diverse international teams.
Xavier is no stranger to Orage and the brands presence throughout the global freeski scene. “We’ve had our eyes on Xavier for a few years now stretching back to ‘07 – ‘08 when Xavier took home the silver medal at the Orage European Freeski Open in Laax, Switzerland,” comments Mike Nick, Orage Marketing Director.
Ortovox Partners with German Mountain Guides
Hopkinton, New Hampshire (Ski Press)-ORTOVOX GmbH, the Munich-based parent company of Ortovox USA, announced a new partnership with the Association of German Mountain and Ski Guides (VDBS).
Effective immediately, ORTOVOX will supply the association’s federal coaching team with snow-safety equipment for the next three years. The VDBS, founded in 1968, serves as the professional association for approximately 500 certified mountain and ski guides and, like all major guiding organizations, is a member of the International Association of Mountain Guides (UIAGM).
With regard to avalanche-safety equipment specifics, as of season 09/10, ORTOVOX will equip all members of the federal coaching team with the S1 Sensor avalanche transceiver, the Professional Alu II avalanche shovel, and the 240 Carbon pfa lightweight avalanche probe.
Wintersteiger Tunes the Center of Excellence
Park City, Utah (Ski Press)-Wintersteiger announced its sponsorship as a supplier to The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's Center of Excellence equipment tuning room, and was on hand for the grand opening dedication.
Wintersteiger supplied the equipment tuning room with complete work benches for each discipline, portable wax benches for visiting technicians and mobile racks for skis and snowboards.
The featured item in the equipment tuning room during the public tours was the Wintersteiger RS350, ski and snowboard race service stone grinder. Used by many manufacturers and national race teams, the RS350 grinder offers a wide range of standard and racing structures including center specific Arrow, Chevron and Sine waves.
Boa Unveils ‘Dialed for Life’ Guarantee
Steamboat Springs, Colo. (Ski Press)-BoaTechnology has launched a new Dialed In for Life Guarantee covering the Boa Lacing System reel and laces for the lifetime of the product. The new program warranties the lifetime of Boa reels and laces on all current and future products. The Dialed In for Life Guarantee covers replacement fees for Boa Lacing System reels and laces of the Boa Lacing System. The warranty does not cover footwear lace guides. Also, since all Boa Lacing Systems are designed to be easily user-maintainable and replaceable, the customer or retail shop that places the warranty order with Boa Technology will perform all repairs independently.
