A handful of ski areas throughout Vermont will stay open through this weekend, and Australia gets its earliest opening ever...

Sugarbush, Jay Peak and Killington will give one more kick at the can during the May 2-3 weekend, before closing out on the 2008/09 ski season.

Meanwhile, Down Under in Australia, Mt. Buller is prepping to open five weeks ahead of schedule! With 35 cm of snow, it’ll be the earliest opening ever for an Australian ski resort.
