Southern BC Mountains In Avalanche Danger Print E-mail

The Canadian Avalanche Centre has issued a special public avalanche warning for the mountains of southern B.C...

The warning, which started Friday and extends through the weekend, is due to nearly of metre of new snow that may trigger weaker layers underneath. "The hazard has been pretty low for a few weeks," CAC public avalanche forecaster Anna Brown told news sources, "but now the conditions are primed for avalanches."

Regions in avalanche danger include BC's south coast, the Kootenay Boundary region, the south Columbia mountains and the south Rockies.
