Golden, BC (Ski Press)-So much snow has been falling across Canada in the past couple days – with much more predicted – that it may be time to start measuring in metres instead of centimetres.

The recent Pacific weather systems delivered a major snowfall to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. With over 25cm of fresh snow over the past 24hrs and much more snow anticipated as the weekend approaches, KHMR is proud to announce spectacular ski conditions.

“After finishing a great holiday season we are excited to kick off the New Year with a major snowfall,” says Steve Paccagnan, President and General Manager at Kicking Horse. “January is always a great time to escape to the mountain, with affordable gas prices and great weekend packages we encourage you to take a powder getaway.”

The total season snowfall at KHMR is now over 250cm and 138cm makes up the mid-mountain snow base. Over 100 runs are open, will all 106 runs anticipated to be open by the weekend.

Mont Tremblant has more than 90 trails open and the addition of this latest gift from Mother Nature, skiers and riders can play to their hearts’ content in 27 cm of fresh snow, bringing up accumulations of the last seven days to 43 cm. To top it all off, South Park opens January 10.

Even before this new snow, conditions at Tremblant were superb. Now that the mountain is covered with a fresh blanket of the white stuff, conditions are nothing short of breathtaking. In addition, the South Side (Versant Sud) Adrenaline snowpark will be open starting this Saturday.
