Geneviève Tougas of St-Hubert, Que., Crystal Lee of Queensville, Ont., and Travis Gerrits of Milton, Ont., all stepped on the podium on Monday at a NorAm freestyle skiing competition...

In women’s aerials, Ashley Caldwell of the U.S., took the gold with 165.23 points, Tougas followed at 153.54 and Lee was third at 128.72. On Sunday, Tougas and Lee were 1-2 respectively. Tougas still improved her score by eight points over Sunday’s finish.

“I had a better performance today (Monday),” said Tougas, 22, the circuit's season champion last winter. “The field jumped much better and I increased my level of difficulty on my final jump and was able to get into second place. I was pleased with that. It gives me a lot of confidence for the World Cups in January.”

Lee however saw her score drop compared to Sunday’s.

“It wasn’t super fantastic,” said Lee, who hadn't earned a medal on the circuit for two seasons before Sunday’s silver. “I did a good first jump and on my second jump I fought to land it properly. But that’s just good experience for me. The landings here are a lot more flat than what we are used to and it was hard to adjust.”
